SCEH Announces 2019 Conference Highlighted Speakers

The Society for Clinical and Experimental Hypnosis (SCEH) has released its list of Keynote and Invited Guest Speakers for the Scientific Program component of its upcoming 2019 Annual Conference. The group's 70th Annual Workshops and Scientific Session will be held in New Orleans, Louisiana from October 16-20, 2019 at the Ace Hotel.

The Scientific Program features keynotes and guest speakers, research presentations and symposia that address empirical issues in hypnosis research and practice and related areas. Sessions often integrate research and practice in psychology, psychiatry, or neuroscience to highlight issues that improve understanding of hypnosis. A Poster Session provides another glimpse into the latest scientific research in the field.

In addition to the Scientific Program, the SCEH Annual Conference includes clinical hypnosis training at Introductory, Skill and Advanced Level Workshops.  Workshops meet accepted Standards of Training in Clinical Hypnosis and count toward SCEH Certification.

This year's theme, Clinical and Applied Hypnosis: Evidence-based Practice and the Therapeutic Relationship, puts a focus, first on selecting treatment interventions well tested by rigorous research, and second, on personal mastery of the relationship variables that optimize all therapeutic interventions.  Conference content will illustrate these twin themes, with sessions extending the scope of hypnosis in both medical and psychological practice.

This year marks the 70th anniversary of the founding of SCEH.  The anniversary will be celebrated at the group's Annual Awards Banquet, which recognizes deserving members of the hypnosis community who have provided service and scientific and clinical contributions to the field.

Conference registration will open in July.  Hotel reservations are now open.  Please bookmark our event page for the latest details.
