Hotel Overview

A friendly gathering place Ace Hotel New Orleans sits on the corner of Carondelet and Lafayette streets in the Warehouse District of one of the best cities on Earth. The feel of weft and warp woven together by countless anthropologies and creation stories far too vast for any single person to own. So it belongs to the whole city. We're close to up-and-coming art galleries and shopping, museums, cocktails and just a jaunt to the classics of the French Quarter and the modernity of the burgeoning South Market District, a stone's throw to many of New Orleans' best gems like the Sports and Arts Districts, and just a bike ride to the lively Bywater and Marigny neighborhoods, as well as mystical nooks and corners you can explore on your own.Check in is after 3 PM. We have secured a special discounted rate for our conference.  Our special group rate is in effect until September 15 or until we sell out, whichever occurs first.

Three Easy Ways to Reserve Your Room

Please help SCEH by making your room reservations directly with the hotel.  Please DO NOT use third party services.  This will help ensure that all our attendee rooms are properly credited to the discounted room block we have arranged for workshop participants. Please review all hotel policies before reserving a room.  Thank you.

To reserve a room:

  1. use this link: SCEH Annual Conference Reservations
    The link takes you to the reservations website for the block.  You will see available rooms in the block, at the special block rate. Guests can alter the check-in and check-out dates anytime between October 15th and October 21st 2019.*
  2. Alternatively, guests can input the group code directly from the Ace Hotel central reservations website at https://www.acehotel.com/reservations/neworleans
    Select check in date and checkout dates anytime between October 15 - 21, 2019.*  Scroll down to Corporate, Promotional, and Group Discount Codes  Select "Group Code" and enter Promo Code:   1910SCEH
    Click Check Availability then complete your reservation.
  3.  Finally, guests can call central reservations at 504.941.9191 and provide the name of the block or booking code to book.
    This is the best method for any guests seeking nights outside of the contracted block. As a reminder, guests will be able to book until the cutoff date of September 15th, 2019.

Hotel Policies

Hotel Check-in
Check-in:  after 3 PM     Check out: 12: 00 Noon

ID Required on Check-In
Please note that for security purposes, you will be asked to provide a valid government or state-issued photo ID at check-in. Please also have your confirmation number and the card charged during the booking process with you upon check-in.

When you check in, we'll place a hold on your credit card for incidentals — and ask to see your ID. This deposit will be applied to any hotel charges during your stay, or refunded at checkout if there are none. If you'd like a late checkout, please let us know and we'll try to make it happen.

Guarantee Policy
Reservations, including those made on a corporate account, must be guaranteed by a major credit at the time of booking. Rooms will be held all night for arrival. In the event you don't show up - we will charge 1 night room and tax to the credit card on the reservation.

Early Departure Policy
Sometimes, you need to leave early, we understand, but we need notice. To avoid a being charged the remaining room nights on your reservation please notify our reservations team or the Front Desk of your change in plans. We ask for this notification at least 72 hours prior to original departure. If your reservation was made with a minimum night policy in place the full nights will be charged.

Cancellation Policy
Reservations booked with a standard or flexible cancellation policy will be charged on the day of arrival - these can be changed or cancelled up to 3PM local time, 72 hours prior to arrival.

Non Refundable Cancellation Policy
Reservations designated with a full pre-payment are non-cancellable, non-amendable and non-refundable. We will charge the full amount of room and tax of the reservation to the credit card you used to make this reservation shortly after the reservation is made. Various rate offers require full pre-payment - please see rate description.

Taxes and Mandatory Charges
Tax Type: Percentage/Rate:  Hotel Sales Tax: 13.45%; Louisiana Tourism Tax Assessment 1.75%; Hotel Occupancy Tax: $1.00; Food and Beverage Tax 10.20%; Sales Use Tax (AV, Service Charge): 9.45%; Service Charge: 6%; Parking Tax:12.45%.


Maximum Room Occupancy
2 people per room are allowed in rooms with king beds, and 4 people per room for rooms with double beds, with existing bedding. There's a $45/night charge for rollaway beds and are based on availability; please check with us if you’d like to request one. Taxes not included. Cribs are free, based on availability.

Exercise - Hotel Gym and Pool
The hotel has a gym is located on the second floor, open to hotel guests around the clock. It also has a pool at their rooftop garden and grill, Alto.  The pool is open daily from 10 AM - 9 PM except Friday-Saturday, when hours are 10 AM - 10 PM. For non-hotel guests, a $25 pool access fee applies during peak hours Friday-Sunday.

Wirelesss Internet
Your hotel reservation includes complimentary wireless internet.

Non-smoking Hotel
All rooms are completely non-smoking. If you light up inside the hotel we must charge a $250 smoking fee to your card, plus taxes.

The nearest airport to the hotel is Louis Armstrong New Orleans International Airport, the primary commercial airport serving the area.

Meals


Attendees will have morning and afternoon coffee breaks during the conference program. Meals are NOT included in the registration fee except for the Annual Banquet on Saturday evening for those who purchase a registration package containing this option.

SCEH members in good standing are invited to attend a Members Luncheon and Business Meeting on Saturday. 

Other scheduled activities include a complimentary Student/Young Professionals luncheon on Friday and a Women's Breakfast on Saturday morning.  More details on these activities will be found in the conference brochure (coming soon).
