Hypnosis Treatment

Alleviating symptoms is a primary goal of hypnosis.

This includes changing behavior such as

  • smoking
  • overeating
  • insomnia

changing something about your experience with your body,

  • pain
  • nausea
  • muscle tension

or changing some aspect of your psychological life

  • depression
  • anxiety
  • apprehension
  • obsessive thoughts

Often symptoms may be linked together - habit patterns may have recurring physical sensations, thoughts, and feelings while being repeated. For example, experiencing the approach of an unfriendly person may elicit fear, elevate your heart rate, increase muscle tension, interrupt digestion, and may quickly produce negative thoughts and emotional feelings as well. If you quickly step into an elevator, which avoids this encounter, you notice these feelings instantly beginning to abate. Hypnosis can help you develop readily-available techniques for eliminating anxiety and other dysphoric emotions, in conjunction with post-hypnotic counseling or therapy.
